Empathy: the ability to understand and share the feelings of another
Empath: a person with the ability to perceive the mental or emotional state of another individual.
I've always been sensitive. (Some have called me too sensitive.) About everything. From having my own feelings hurt easily, to understanding other people's feelings, to picking up on the energy in a room. It was a long time before I learned that that was called empathy, and people who have that quality are called empaths.
Over time, the view of what an empath can do has been expanded in literature to include such things as being able to heal other people's physical pain. Do I think this is possible? No, but the idea of it has fascinated me for years, and I've always wanted to write a story about it -- a challenge, as it were, to see if I could turn such a fanciful idea into something credible and likeable that someone might actually enjoy reading. And, of course, connect it to my favorite writing subject: the Team.
Well, here we are.
Right now, there is only one story, but I refuse to rule out the idea that there may be more in the future. If this is your cup of tea, enjoy! If it's not for you, I completely understand.
